Soloman Garden
The Soloman Garden was the result of a partnership with Parks Department, PS. 175, P.S. 175 P.T.A., The Parks Department, Council Member Koslowitz, Citizens Committee of NYC, Lowes Foundation, and the community. The partnership resulted in an investment of over $80,000 to fix up a 3,000 square foot space closed to the community for years.
The Rego Park Green Alliance built partnerships with key stakeholders including Citizens Committee for New York City, Lowes Foundation, The Parks Department, P.S. 175 P.T.A., P.S. 175, Council Member Koslowitz, and the local community.
Next, consultants for Parks Department ripped up the broken pathways and downed trees. They then installed organic winding pathways based on a drawing created with the Parks Dept. and the community.
The end result was made possible by a paint, brushes, and most importantly— people willing to go the distance.
